Guest guest
Crayfish EscapesThere are stores in Chinatown that have tanks of live aquatic critters for sale for cooking. Some people I know saw a crayfish on the sidewalk, apparently it had escaped from the tank or had been dropped there. They picked up the crayfish and took it home in a plastic container. This saved it from being boiled alive with it's friends. Now it seems they have lost interest in it. When I expressed concern, they assigned me the task of finding it a new home. Crayfish as PetsI've been cruising the web looking for crayfish info, what do they eat, etc. Strange but true, it seems that some people keep crayfish as pets. Best environment for crayfish is a fish tank with an aerator, objects to hide under, and lots of green plants. They eat mostly vegetation, although they may grab other critters and eat them & vice-versa, so don't put it in a tank that already has fish.Crayfish Goes to SchoolThis article extols the virtues of crayfish in the classroom.lawrencehallofscience.org Do you know a children's school that might be interested in adopting a crayfish?I'm in Berkeley, will be in SF this weekend.Jordan Rothstein510 548-2594510 323-2651RawVeg.info BodyTechnician.com
