Guest guest
Hi all, Joelle, sorry this reply wasn't timely for the Dyke March (I was a bit preoccupied with getting the BAVeg booth ready for Pride) but maybe this info will be useful for the next event you're interested in!Depending on what you're looking for, most national organizations will provide literature for outreach. Depending on their budget, they may ask for a nominal or small sum to help with printing and shipping. For veg literature for leafleting, here's some websites in alphabetical order, check out which leaflets appeal to you the most and just go for it! Every activist I know has their personal favorites. If you're ordering literature, I would recommend providing at least 4 weeks leadtime, just in case of delay or mix-up. From my personal experience, Vegan Outreach is the quickest at getting literature out.http://farmsanctuary.orghttp://petaliterature.comhttp://veganoutreach.org PETA has all of their flyers online. For example, I know this one is black/white so you could print it yourself and have it immediately.http://petaliterature.com/VEG366.PDFMy own preference about literature for leafleting - if I am on foot, and carrying them in my bag, I like the 5" x 8" size of the Vegan Outreach booklets because they offer a lot of info about factory farming, and are compact enough for people to fold into a pocket. Similarly, I also like single page or 1/3 page flyers that offer a small amount of info and people can go to websites for more info. example:http://petaliterature.com/prodinfo.asp?number=VEG600 if someone else is bringing the leaflets :-) or if I'm leafleting at a venue where people are sitting around and have time to read, the full size Vegetarian Starter Kits that combine veg info + factory farming info are really good as well. For the Stern Grove leafleting, I know Ari (who travels for business) is also looking for co-hosts for some of the weeks..... Cheers,Tammy Bay Area Vegetarians P.O.
