Guest guest
Hello, My best fiend has been vegitarian for a few years now. She is now pregnant and says she is having difficulty holding down soy based products, is sick of just eating nuts and as a result is craving meat. Last week, she started eating meat. She does not like that she is doing this. She lives in upstate NY and does not have friends or family their who are veg. I am wondering if there is any advice people may be able to offer her? If you reply, please also email my friend: marymonroe18. Thanks! Katy
Guest guest
Dear Mary and Katy, Sounds like a challenging situation. The good news is there are many very supportive people available to help.A good start may be: www.vegsource.comAlso take good care of yourself.Make sure you get your emotional needs met.i believe the experts agree, often the reasons we have cravings is to meet our emotional needs with food, there may be better ways to get these needs met.It is most appropriate to meet emotional needs through friends, emotional support, a healthy level of self esteem. Also part of taking care for yourself includes meeting your nutritional needs by eating with nutritional excellence. You are worth it, You are so lucky to have an opportunity to bring a beautiful child into this world and at the same time do what is best for you both, best for the planet and all living beings. What a beautiful lesson to begin to teach by example to your soon to be child/wonder of nature.Enjoy eating a healthy diet of vegetables, grains, seeds... especially this time of year, so much produce stuff is coming into season right now.It should be a pleasure, to nourish yourself your soon to be, and your greater environment, what better "place" to bring someone into this world than one of peace love and non - violence.Just my thoughts, i am sure there are many other ways to meet this challenge with a positive process and outcome for all.Peace,samsamhalsey(415) 309-1879Hello,My best fiend has been vegitarian for a few years now.
