Guest guest
Two new vegan ice cream treats to sample. If that's not urgent, I don't know what is. 1. Celestial Seasonings is now making tea flavored ice cream, using Rice Dream as the base. I got the " Chocolate Caramel Chai " flavor. Scale of 1-10, 10 being the best, I give it an 8.5. Love the chai spice flavors, and the caramel is really caramel-y. However, could use some nuts to be a 10. And where did I find this? Safeway! They're making vegan food seem so mainstream that as Sue recently said, we're all going to have to start eating meat again in order to be different. 2. Maggie Mudd's pre-made ice cream cakes, sold at Rainbow. I know this was posted once before but I really need to post it again because on a scale of 1-10, we're talking 12 or 13. Rich brownie, fabulous ice cream (3 different flavor possibilities), gorgeous looking and very nicely packaged. I took two different ones to a dinner party recently, and everyone said they were too full for dessert when I offered. But then I brought out the cakes and the good manners flew out the window. Mature adults had chocolate on their hands, frosting on their faces, and they were eating off their fingers and the big cake knife. The tablecloth was destroyed. So the next time you're invited to a non-vegan party, you must bring one of these. They're $21 for what looks like a small cake, but it's so rich that one cake will easily feed 10 people. I will eventually go back to posting about healthy foods, I promise. Experiencing temporary setback due to outside influences I cannot control.
