Gay animal activist pens memoir

 

Dan Mathews, the openly gay vice president of People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals, has a message for the leather community: fake leather is just as sexy. "Get the pleathor. Get the rubber. A lot of stuff looks just as raunchy without being dead," said Mathews. "We got our own skin. We don't need anyone else's."

Mathews will read from and sign copies of Committed at noon Wednesday, April 25 at the Commonwealth Club, 595 Market Street, 2nd floor. The event costs $8 for members and $15 for non-members.
