Guest guest
But I never thought anything this great could exist. Thanks to Val, a lovely and dedicated friend to animals, I was tipped off about a new company in Berkeley: http://www.myspace.com/specialpal Vegan and organic doughnuts. I felt I should buy one to support the new company, even if they weren't that great. I ended buying 14 and they are the best doughnuts I have ever had. Chocolate, lemon-poppyseed, glazed, blueberry, candy sprinkles, and something else I can't remember (due to my current sugar coma). I got them at Éclair Bakery, Blake and Telegraph (5 blocks South of campus), but according to the website above they are being sold in several other places including the fabulous Fellini's. So now East Bay has vegan pizza, vegan doughnuts, Fellini's, New World, a new Herbivore opening up, and a host of other fabulous veg*n places. I think it's time to move. If you work or live with folks who think vegan food means bad food, you are now fully armed to prove them otherwise. Alex p.s. If there are people on this list who knew about the doughnuts, but didn't share, I think that's really mean.

I wrote him back to get more info, like what flavors, what other vegan stuff do you sell, and to invite him to Andrew's Vegan Food Party on the 28th. I told him an excellent place to promote his product to a target veg audience. 04/28 Vegan Food Party followed by Joaquin Phoenix documentary - SF 2) I was sitting at Herbivore on Valencia earlier this week .. Waiting for Chris .. And a guy I'd never met walks up to me and starts talking. "They're going to start selling vegan donuts here."So, not sure if these are the same donuts you're talking about, but maybe Herbivore is going to have them too, if the news report of a random person in the restaurant is to be relied upon. The guy who told me had a box with him but I didn't ask what was inside.Okay, I have to go and fold Ultimate Guides. For anyone who's been looking for the Spring edition, email chris if you want to pick one up, and save on postage.http://bayareaveg.org/book.htm Don't forget, this weekend! 04/15 KFC Cruelty Protest - SF 04/15 Sundaes and Advocacy - SF Cheers,Tammy Bay Area Vegetarianswww.BayAreaVeg.org
