Guest guest
Wanted: Veganauts Mission: Explore, celebrate and share vegan food with new and old friends at vegetarian restaurants throughout the San Francisco Bay Area. What: Veganauts: Mission to Bok ChoyWhere: SF ( 1820 Clement St ) When: 4/13/07 Friday, 6:30 pmHost: Tammy and Chris [ http://www.bayareaveg.org/rsvp.htm?id=1570 ] Full Details: http://www.bayareaveg.org/events.php?EID=1570#1570 Ultimate Guide Info/Reviews: http://www.bayareaveg.org/ug/display.htm?id=98 If you're ready to explore the universe of vegan foods, then join VEGANAUTS for our April expedition on Friday, the 13th to Bok Choy Garden in SF. Bok Choy Garden changed ownership late last year, and upgraded to a fancier look with cloth napkins and tablecloths. The chef and the menu is the same, and we're looking forward to some of our favorite dishes, see below, or trying new dishes. General's Beef (small strips of seitan that are individually breaded and deep fried, and served in a rich dark, spicy sauce )Cheese Rolls (seasoned tofu filling rolled in layers of bean curd sheets; pan fried and served on a bed of lettuce ) Note - if you're not big into fried foods, they can do special requests. Some earlier reviews had commented about a smell at the restaurant. According to folks who have dined there more recently than those reviews, that is no longer an issue. See the most recent 5-star review in UG: Over the years, I've eaten sporadically at Bok Choy. The food has been mediocre. Now the ownership has changed. What an improvement! My wife and I had five dishes--all were delicious! Ken Kuet, the manager, had everything made to our health specifications: no sugar, no salt, little oil, no tofu. They serve brown rice. You are *welcome* to invite family and friends to join us, even non-veg ones. Only vegan foods may be ordered for this dinner. We will share foods family style. Thank you to Ron for leading last month's mission to Golden Era Mission Schedule:http://www.veganauts.com So if you're looking for good food, company, and conversation, join us for this dinner, or check out any of the other Bay Area Veg events. See Event Calendar for details http://bayareaveg.org/events It is much appreciated if you can RSVP as soon as possible so we can get a firm headcount.
