Dear fellow animal people,

A friend of mine has been feeding a feral cat colony in Daly City for more than a year now, in addition to all the cats she feeds in the Sunset and Richmond Districts here in San Francisco, where she lives.

She is not young, and not in very good health herself, but what's even worse is that her husband has cancer, which means she has lots more to do than before, because she's taking care of him more than ever. She is incredibly stressed and tired and worried, and I'd like to take the feeding of this colony off her shoulders, even if only temporarily or part-time.

Does anyone know any cat-friendly people in Daly City who might be willing to help out, even if only part-time and even if only temporarily? The colony is off St. Francis Boulevard, near the Clarinada exit from Highway 1, on the way to Pacifica. I would, of course, provide all food and would pay for gas if necessary. The cats get fed once a day (usually in the afternoon, but that could vary) and it just takes a few minutes. We have done a lot of TNR (Trap-Neuter-Return) on the cats in the area in the last year, and have managed to fix all but a few cats [we're still working on it!), and have also adopted 6-7 kittens and 4-5 tame adult cats to good homes.

Can you please forward this to your cat-loving friends who live or work in the Daly City area, or who drive through that area on their way to or from work, to see if any of them might be willing to help??

Please call me at home (415/221-3618 - if no answer, leave a message) or on my cell phone (415/846-1362) if you think you can help or if you know anyone who might be able to help.

Thanks so much, everyone, for getting the word out about this situation. The cats thank you too!!!

Nadine
