Despite the windy evening on the 18th, Elliot Gang and I set up a

table outside Trader Joe's in Menlo Park. We got quite a few takers to

put their names in a bowl to win a big vegan food basket and even more

to sample vegan dark chocolate bars with pecans and raisins. Elliot

enlightened one person on switching from expensive fish oil to

inexpensive flax seed to get omega 3s. If you've ever had the

opportunity to hear Elliot, you know how deftly he combines his

incredible knowledge with an immediately-palatable soft sell for

veganism. He is a H-U-G-E asset to the cause. We stayed for a couple

of hours and gave away recipe booklets, vegetarian starter kits as

well as the " how to substitute vegan items " to 40-50 people. Everyone

seemed to have a good time and many seemed genuinely interested in

helping the animals, their health and the planet. This would be a good

place for another tabling event during the day.
