Guest guest
Darn. Please keep checking back to the Bay Area Vegetarians Event Calendar <http://www.bayareaveg.org/events.htm>, we're going to reschedule as soon as we can. On Saturday Chris, Tammy, Jack and I went to the St. Patrick's Day Parade in downtown San Francisco. We arrived early, to reach people as they waited around for the parade to start. We handed out about 750 veg leaflets in less than an hour! It was easy and fun. People were actually following us so they could grab a leaflet as we walked down the street. The best part was walking back to the stash to refill and seeing all the folks sitting on the curb, wearing crazy green outfits and reading about how animals suffer for meat. It was perfect! Of course we had to refuel at Golden Era. On the way back I stopped a couple of absolutely fabulous looking guys in front of a shoe store and offered them a Veg Starter Kit. They said no, they didn't need it. Then the three of us all turned to admire a pair of shoes in the window and I discovered why they didn't need it--they were already vegan, and they were hoping the red heels were not leather. Just as they turned to go they changed their minds and asked for a brochure for their neighbor. Whoever said leafleting was hard needs to try some San Francisco leafleting. We want to keep the momentum going so we'll reschedule tonight's event ASAP. Possibly even tomorrow. Early evening leafleting in the Mission and Valencia area (with both English and Spanish leaflets), then a yummy dinner. Thanks!
