Guest guest
Hi Amy & All, Vegans buying used leather has never made sense to me. Using leather is using leather. Buying a used pair of gloves keeps them out of the hands of someone who would buy leather anyway; if those used gloves are sold and unavailable then that person will buy another/possibly new pair of leather gloves. Borrowing leather gloves from an omnivore isn't ideal either as that gives the impression that veganism is impossible because leather is sometimes necessary. I think there are almost always alternatives to using animal products. So far I've found a way to do that. But that's just my opinion and I don't have a garden so I haven't personally checked out cruelty free garden tools. I also believe doing something is good too; one doesn't have to be perfect to make a difference. But, as a vegan, I would never buy or use leather. Just one more opinion. Take care.
