Dear Advocates for Animals: Yogi is a rhesus monkey who was used in research at UCSF and was a cage-mate of Wyatt's. Wyatt was a former victim of Dr. Lisberger's research at UCSF and is now living at Mindy's Memory Primate Sanctuary (MMPS), in Oklahoma, along with two other monkeys acquired from UCSF over the past year. It would be nice, I think, if Yogi could get to be with his old cage-mate. Shelly Ladd, president of MMPS, however, called me a few nights ago to tell me the sanctuary needs money in order to take in Yogi. So, if you can contribute, please call her at 323-656-6420 or e-mail her at shellymonkey228 Further, if you know of organizations that may be able to contribute to the cause, please alert them to Yogi's plight since the sanctuary needs to raise the money (around $10,000) pretty soon.
