Foster Farms’ Bully Tactics Backfire, ‘Foster Facts’ Ads Return

to Television this Week

---------------------------

On Friday, February 16th, EBAA’s ‘Foster Facts’ television

advertisements return to the Food Network and Animal Planet.

In mid-December 2006, EBAA kicked off a new television

advertising campaign, exposing over 62,000 households in the City

of Berkeley and Marin County to the cruel realities at Foster

Farms (www.FosterFacts.net). The ad campaign generated positive

feedback from many concerned viewers. On December 21st, however,

Foster Farms sent Comcast a threatening letter, accusing the

media company of illegally airing the commercials.

After nearly two months of deliberation, Comcast agreed this week

to air additional television advertisements (watch the commercial

online at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pl-bypjGcPI). Comcast’s

decision to broadcast honest information about Foster Farms’

actual practices is positive news for animals, consumers, and

free speech protections alike.

EBAA’s television campaign will air on the Food Network and

Animal Planet in the San Francisco Bay Area through June 2007.
