FYI, you're welcome to forward this onto other lists, but please remove my email address so RSVPs go directly to Alex using the link below. What: Singles Veg LeafletingWhere: SFWhen: 2/13/07 Tuesday, 5:30 pmHost/RSVP: Alexandra [ http://www.bayareaveg.org/rsvp.htm?id=1525 ]Full Details: http://www.bayareaveg.org/events.php?EID=1525#1525Bay Area Vegetarians announces a new program of events: Singles Veg Leafleting. These events are for anyone interested in meeting new veg*nfriends: Women, men, straight, gay, any age, almost-veg, veg, or vegan (yes, it's OK if you're not veg, as long as you are open to and interested in vegetarianism). The first event will be Tuesday night, February 13th--the night before Valentine's Day. You might meet someone and make a date for the next night!February is all about Valentine's Day, and Valentine's Day is all about love, romance and hearts (and mass consumerism, but we'll ignore that for now). The healthiest hearts are vegan hearts, right? Right.http://www.goveg.com/heartdisease.aspAnd when it comes to love and romance, well...a vegan diet helps in that department as well:http://www.goveg.com/impotence.asp(that's a great website to forward to your non-veg friends and family, by the way--guaranteed to start some conversations)We'll leaflet for 30 short minutes, then eat. If you've never leafleted before, you can just watch and see how it goes. I think you'll be surprised at how fun and easy it is. It's also a great way to get to know your fellow veg*ns, because everyone has their own style of leafleting and it all works.I love leafleting with friends and then relaxing over a meal, to celebrate all the leaflets given away (all the new vegetarians just created!), laugh over some of the people we saw, and compare notes about different things to try. Please below for full details of the pre-Valentine's Day leafletinghttp://www.bayareaveg.org/events.php?EID=1525#1525 If you're interested in learning more about leafleting and advocacy, check out the Vegan Food Party & presentation on Sunday - Veganism: Does it Spread Itself with Jack Norris of Vegan Outreach.
