This is somewhat fresh in my mind since we just had our book discussion Dominion: The Power of Man, the Suffering of Animals, and the Call to Mercy by Matthew Sculley last week. He had a very detailed section about hunting, and really showed what a big profitable industry it is. And the connection to zoos - besides the obvious problem with zoos (i.e. unnatural, confinement, boredom for the animals, etc.), there are other issues involved with the capture of the animals as well as unwanted zoo animals. For the latter, unfortunately, sometimes they are purchased to be used in "canned" hunts (i.e. hunters pay big $$ to kill these animals).
