Guest guest
Hi, I've been vegan for almost a year! While, I really have embraced my veganism, my system is not agreeing - I have the worst gas in my life! I thought it would pass, but in reality I think it's gotten worse. At times it's uncontrollable and highly odorous - and since I work in the public it's not acceptable, and is threatening my vegan way of life. Any ideas? Help!! Kim Check out the new AOL. Guest guest
The active cultures in [soy] yogurt are a good antidote to gas. Also, at Other Avenues (natural foods co-op on Judah near 45th Avenue in SF), you can purchase chewable papaya enzyme tablets that aid digestion. Guest guest
I had a lot of gas too when I went veg because I was overeating, trying to compensate for what I thought was going to be a lack of food now that I could only eat veg. For what ever reason if you are overeating STOP and your gas will clear up. Also don't eat late at night. Stop eating after 8p.m., if possible and let your stomach clean out through the night. If you can just eat fruit for breakfast. I find all these practices keeps gas to a minumum if not non-existent. Pat
