I was wondering if anybody can help me with a problem I am having

with mice in the house. My husband used to catch them with spring

traps, but I told him I didn't want him to do that and that I would

get some humane traps. So I ordered a few from PETA and set them

out, and the mice are walking right into them, taking the food, and

walking right back out.

The problem is getting to be pretty bad. I can hear the mice

scurrying around, and we have seen them numerous times. Then run

across the living room. My husband was eye to eye with one on the

kitchen counter one morning when he went to make coffee.

Particularly since I got PETA's booklet yesterday which said mice

are responsible for numerous house fires each year due to their

chewing and nest building, I am getting very concerned. They are

really cute, but I wouldn't want to lose my home AND my household

pets due to their activity.

Anybody ... HELP!!!!

The last time I lived with mice, I went crazy until I seriously mouse-proofed my home. After that it took about 2 more weeks of live-trapping and releasing, then they were all gone and I was totally mouse-free.

It's hard at first (to find all the holes, put all the rice and flour in glass jars, etc) but in the end it was so worth it! Here's some tips:

If you're nit-picky it will work. They won't be in your house if they can't get in and if there's absolutely nothing for them to eat.

Good luck!

If you take away their food supply the mice will not come into your

house. They are only there because they are finding something to eat.

Find out what it is they are getting into and put it and everything

else into a mouse proof container, i.e., glass jars.

It is the same with ants, if there is no food there will be no ants.

No matter how many mice you trap and kill or release as long as there is food available they will keep coming.
