Guest guest
As I was following an internet trail through animal welfare websites, on the In Defense of Animals website I came across this piece of information regarding the AETA (Animal Enterprise Terrorism Act), HR Bill 4239. You may all know about it already, but it was news to me. Apparently this is aimed at preventing people from speaking out against animal abuse. It is targeted at nobody else, and carries really stiff penalties ... 18 months if no property or economic damage is inflicted, up to 20 years if there is economic damage. Apparently this bill passed the senate without even a question, and is now before the house, and they are trying to get the house to act on it next week. So it is important that members of the House hear from the public about it. Here is a link for more information: http://www.noaeta.com/alert.htm I don't think we should have to be afraid of imprisonment for speaking out against animal abuse.
