Guest guest
Hi everyone, As most of you know, our beloved Bay Leaf Cafe has closed down I agree with the posts by Sean and Tammy that Ravi and Cindy really took great care of our veg*n community over the last 4 years. I truly appreciate their dedication to the restaurant and veg*n community. I have enjoyed hosting the Bay Area Vegetarians' 2nd Tuesday of the month dinner throughout 2006 and though I am so sad that we won't be meeting at Bay Leaf, I would still like to continue the event. So, I have chosen to make the dinner at Happy Bamboo which is located right off the 85 freeway at Camden (at Branham) in San Jose. Happy Bamboo is a vegetarian/mostly vegan Vietnamese restaurant. They have the most amazing vegan drumsticks I have ever tasted. For more info on Happy Bamboo, go to: http://www.bayareaveg.org/ug/display.htm?id=330 So, we will meet for the November dinner on Tuesday November 14th at 7pm. I am open to getting feedback and possibly changing the dinner to the 3rd or 4th Tuesday of the month, since the 2nd Tuesday falls close to the 1st Saturday dinner in San Jose that Candace hosts at Veggie House. But for now we will meet on Tuesday 11/14/06 at 7pm. The dinner is open to both veg*ns and non-veg*ns, but please note, that if you will be sitting with the group, that only VEGAN food can be ordered. Happy Bamboo is about 90% vegan, so that will not be difficult. Happy Bamboo is a small restaurant so I will need to get an exact count of who will be attending. Please RSVP to this email or at the Bay Area Vegetarians' events calendar at http://www.bayareaveg.org/events.htm?EID=1438#1438 by 12 noon on the day of the dinner Melissa
