I'm not vegan either. Though I may be going vegan soon.. We do use soy milk and

soy cheese. I consume some products that contain caeisin (soy cheese, non-dairy

creamer) and whey (veat). I suppose it is better for our bodies than large

amounts of cow milk and cheese.

We are not vegan but are dairy free as my husband has a severe dairy

allergy. Even before his allergy developed we were dairy avoiders we

all feel that cow's milk is an excellent source of nutrition for

baby cows. Anyway, just wanted to put in my 2 cents on soy cheeses.

Most contain casein and/or whey. The vegans among us probably

already knew that but I felt it worth mentioning. We use the vegan

products by soymage. No one in the family cares for them straight

but they work well when cooked into things.

The company that makes the veggie slices also makes vegan slices that

do not contain the dairy ingredient. Soy cheeses often have casein

added to help them melt, so be sure to watch for that if you are vegan.

You really need to read the labels.
