Guest guest
Happy birthday to SFBAVeg co-founder Tammy Lee, who happens to share a birthday with St. Francis of Assisi as well as Alicia Silverstone (turning 30 today), making Oct. 3 a pretty darned-good day for the animals. ~ Joe**************************************** ~ Joseph Connelly Publisher and Founding Editor More Than Recipes™VegNews MagazineVegetarianNewsPoliticsFoodTravelBuzzOne of Chicago Tribune's 2006 "50 Best Magazines"PO Box 320130San Francisco, CA 94132p: 415.665.NEWS (6397)f: 415.665.6398
Guest guest
Thanks, Joe & everyone, for the birthday wishes. Today is actually the 5th birthday / anniversary of the start of SFBAVEG/Bay Area Vegetarians, too. We didn't do a BAVeg party this year, as we were busy with planning for World Farm Animals Day. So, for anyone who wants to celebrate the occasion, let's do it Saturday at Pam & Roy's VFP. Who's bringing the birthday cake ? :-) We'll bring the vegan ice cream from MaggieMudd. What: Grass-and-Lake Vegan Food PartyWhere: Lake Temescal (Oakland)When: 10/7/06 Saturday, 12:00 pmHost: Pam & Roy WebbRSVP: http://www.evite.com/app/publicUrl//vfp_oct06 Chris and I would especially enjoy meeting new veg*ns or folks new to the Bay Area. It's always fun to talk veg, and even better to meet up with others who also enjoy advocacy, as we do. Cheers, Tammy __ "This is my protest against the conduct of the world. To be a vegetarian is to disagree--to disagree with the course of things today. Starvation, world hunger, cruelty, waste, wars--we must make a statement against these things. Vegetarianism is my statement and I think it's a strong one." -- Isaac Bashevis Singer
