Guest guest
This morning PETA released the details of a 40-day undercover investigation. PETA investigators were in a Butterball slaughterhouse in Arkansas. They found workers punching and kicking birds, slamming them against handrails and trailers (one bird was slammed so hard that her spine popped out), sexually assaulting birds and more. You can read more about it at the new Web site, www.ButterballCruelty.com. Please send the video and webpage to everyone you know. You can use this form to easily send the video to your friends and family (and encourage them to send it to others, too) so that we can spread the video around as much as possible before Thanksgiving. More people learning about this investigation means fewer people buying dead birds. I recently heard Ingrid Newkirk say that the animals' greatest enemy is silence. The gentle birds being killed can't ask humans to stop hurting and eating them. But we can ask on their behalf, and we must. This investigation is a powerful way to expose their suffering. Did you know that turkeys are sensitive, intelligent animals who often sing along to music? Their suffering matters. Learn more about turkeys and chickens at: http://goveg.com/amazingAnimals.asp One idea to encourage your non-veg friends to think about the animals: Tell them the only Christmas present you want this year is for them to have a vegetarian Thanksgiving. Send them the Butterball investigation, links to great veg recipes, and the information about animal intelligence and personalities. This has worked wonders for me, I do it every year! If you have questions, please don't hesitate to e-mail me. Thanks! Alex
