Guest guest
Now & Zen is a very large annual concert with some big name musicians in Golden Gate Park. It attracts over 40,000 people, many of which are in the best demographics likely to adopti a veg lifestyle. The first band takes the stage at noon and the last band at 4pm and the doors open at 11am. Many people actually camp out for better seats, so we can expect loads of people there before 11am (with lots of time on their hand until noon to read any material that comes their way). I may bring a little table to place literature on, but more than likely will just bring lots of boxes fo Veggie starter guides and Why Vegetarians. People can feel free to pass out guides for a while, sit down and listen to the music (or enjoy the park) and come back and pass out more again latter. There is another bayveg event in SF at 2:30pm and I will try to attend that. However, if someone wants to continue there and pass out guides to people as they leave, that would also be great! My cell phone number is 415-962-0753 if you want to reach me the day of the event. Email me at anessel if you want more info or want to pencil in a time to pass out guides. Note: cars are not allowed in most of the park on Saturdays. This is a great opportunity to reach lots of people in a very short amount of time who have some down-time for free reading (right after they get their new veggie starter guides). Guest guest
Just wanted to add, Ari also organized the outreach at the Stern Grove music concert series. I heard from several who participated that they enjoyed it, and felt it was a good use of time. This is a great activity for new & experienced advocates, and no previous experience is necessary. But if you feel shy or uncomfortable about doing outreach, or not sure what to say, then you should plan to come to Nora's presentation (same day as the outreach, but later in the day) to learn more about effective communication. Here's the details for that event: http://www.bayareaveg.org/events.htm?EID=1088#1088 Cheers, Tammy
