Guest guest
Hopefully this posting isn't redundant, but wanted to alert you all to a relatively new little part-veggie restaurant, Little Vietnam Cafe, 309 6th Ave (at Clement),.San Francisco, CA 94118. In the heart of the Inner Richmond District, it's always got plenty of ready-to-go plates, that come out of the kitichen all day long, at least half of which are usually vegetarian. They come pre-packaged and cost $3.50-$4.50. Among the veggie selections (and the staff has assured me that they have no dairy or eggs in them -- but you can always ask again) are: spicy tofu (eight big pieces), Vietnamese rolls with noodles, tofu & vegetables w/curry sauce, tofu & vegetables in tomato sauce, and a new " shredded tofu " roll which I haven't tried yet. They also have a good veggie Vietnamese sandwich for $3.00, but ask them to make sure there's no dairy or egg (mayo comes in it, so ask for the sandwich w/out it). They have other dishes as well which can be made in the kitchen and are not pre-packaged. These packages are usually good for two meals for me and I've kept them in the fridge for several days with no problem. You can also eat there at the cafe too, but there's just a counter and four or five charis. The people there are always friendly. It's not a vegetarian restaurant, but they have enough vegetarian selections that I can usually find something to take home for dinner, unless I stop by really late. I think they're usually open until about 8, but it may be somewhat erratic.
