Guest guest
The World Farm Animals Day event is rapildy approaching and we could do with a little help. Sunday Oct 1st, 11am-3pm Location: San Mateo Peninsula Humate Society & SPCA Cost: Free Details: http://www.bayareaveg.org/wfad The event is jointly sponsored by Bay Area Vegetarians, the Peninsula Humane Society & SPCA, and Animal Place. The target audience is not people who are already vegetarian, but the non-veggie community, so we can raise awareness of the billions of animals suffering and slaughtered in the world's factory farms. Hence we are partnering with PHS/SPCA and Animal Place. There will be some great speakers, cooking demos as well as an array of free food samples for people to try. If you're already veg, don't come to this event alone -- please bring a non veg person with you. Speakers - Kim Sturla from Animal Place and lauren Ornelas of Compassion Over Killing Cooking demos by Alex Bury from PETA Food Sampling Book Nook Do the Write Thing! Pen a short letter to help animals. How you can help - 1) Print and distribute flyers for the event http://www.bayareaveg.org/wfad/flyers.htm If you don't have a printer let us know and we can send you some. 2) We also need volunteers to help on the day, from general setup and take-down to distributing food samples on the day, staffing and information table, coordinate the letter writing area. 3) If you know of companies who can donate vegan food samples please let us know their names & contact info. Or, better yet, if you can help us contact them, please let us know. 4) Bring a non-veg friend to the event. 5) Forward this email to your non-veg family and friends who care about animals, and other appropriate email lists.
