My roommate Megan and I are looking for a roommate to share our house in

Bernal Heights in San Francisco. We're trying to keep it meat free (I'm

vegan; she's trying to be vegan).

 

The place is for the bottom half of the house, which is two rooms plus a

half bath.

Suite available in progressive veg Bernal home

 

Hi there! We have a suite of rooms available in our house in Bernal

Heights on Ellsworth St. near Crescent Ave. We've had a great history of

having queer, artist, veg., and/or activist roommates living here and

it'd be great to continue the tradition. We'd prefer vegetarian or vegan

roommates. In any case, please no meat in the house.

 

The home has two rooms upstairs plus the downstairs suite. The suite

downstairs is great for those needing more space and/or privacy. It's

almost a separate apartment -- it has it's own entrance in addition to a

door connecting it to the main house. It also has its own bathroom (no

shower, though). One of the rooms in the suite is quite large; the other

smaller. The price of the suite is $820. The deposit is $820 also.

 

We have a deck in the backyard plus space for gardening around the deck.

It would be great to find someone who likes to garden! There's a large

walnut tree in the back and also a purple plum tree. We have various

flowers in the backyard including lilies and birds of paradise. There's

a wooden deck in the back yard, and a storage room in the sub-basement

right off the deck. There's also a storage room that's next to the room

downstairs. Parts of the garage can be used for storage, too, but

Jen-Mei's car will also live there (since she will be in North Carolina

for weeks at a time).

 

We have laundry in the house -- the washer and dryer are both new. There

are two muni buses that run just a few doors down from our house -- it

takes about 1 min. to get to them. Both run frequently and stop at BART

stations.

 

Hope to hear from you! We're hoping to share the house with someone who

we have a lot in common with! Speaking of us, we are:

 

Jen-Mei: Vegan, queer Asian woman who tries to write when she has time

(not much lately!). She's active in Chin Jurn Wor Ping (moving forward

for peace) and the Pride Law Fund, and works as a tech. consultant to

non-profits and small businesses (she'll be spending most of August and

September working on Babeland's Web site). She'll be splitting her time

between San Francisco and Durham, NC (her girlfriend just got a job at

Duke University) on a not yet super clear schedule.

 

Megan: Recent grad of Mills college who is enjoying her new freedom by

interning full time at a homeless drop-in center in the mission plus

doing odd jobs for mula. Loves biking, cooking, dancing, reading some

types of cleaning, sex worker's rights, feminisms, and animals.

Identifies as a queer white woman and recovering catholic.
