Hi folks

I am organizing Bay Area Vegetarians 5th Annual trip to a lovely State Park filled with majestic redwoods about an hour's drive south of San Francisco. "Butano State Park is a 3,200-acre redwood park in the Santa Cruz Mountains, featuring excellent hiking through the redwood groves. Only three miles from the coast, the park's trails offer views of the ocean."

Our trips are reknown for being gourmet outdoor feasts - we make wonderful vegan meals in camps, and the participants decide what we are making. If you're not a cook, don't worry, there's room for folks to help with prep or simply clean-up afterwards.

The trip is Labor Day weekend, starting with Saturday afternoon and ending on Monday. The cost of the trip is about $60 which includes mostly organic foods for breakfast, lunch, dinner, as well as campsite space. If french toast with soy sausages and fruit salad sound like your idea of a good breakfast, you'll definitely enjoy camping and eating with this crowd.

Here's some photos from past trips to Butano:

This is a wonderful opportunity to enjoy the outdoors, hike under beautiful redwoods, learn more about vegan cooking, and share a leisurely weekend with like-minded folks.

I'd personally like to especially encourage folks who are new or aspiring vegans or activists to join us, as promoting veganism and promoting vegan advocacy underlies all of the events and activities that BAVEG volunteers organize.

We've got a handful of spots open, so if you're interested, please email me with a bit more about yourself and let me know what questions you have about the trip. Preference will be given to folks who are team players and have ideas and/or energy to contribute to the trip, leadership quality and love of good vegan eating as far as organizing a food team, and people who will participate for the entire trip (not just one day).

Cheers,

Tammy
