Guest guest
There were four of us at the Kentucky Fried Cruelty protest that Candace organized in Palo Alto on Saturday. I wanted to share one experience that highlighted the importance of doing this type of street outreach. As we stood at a busy intersection on San Antonio, I held two signs, "Boycott KFC" and "Broken Wings and Legs", I noticed one woman who obviously was very interested in reading our signs as she waiting in traffic across the intersection and then slowed as she drove by. She drove around a second time and tried to pullover to talk to me, but an impatient driver honked from behind and she had to move. On her third drive around, she stopped to talk to me and I gave her some information about why we were there and a flyer. It's all about planting the seeds for compassion to animals, raising awareness of how the animals are treated. As PETA Vice President Bruce Friedrich says, "If KFC employees abused cats or dogs the way they abuse chickens, they could be thrown into prison on felony charges of cruelty to animals." There are KFC Cruelty protests at several locations throughout the Bay Area - San Rafael, San Francisco, Palo Alto - please support them and keep them going! Here are the next dates. 07/29 KFC Cruelty Protest - SF 08/06 KFC Cruelty Protest - San Rafael 08/19 KFC Cruelty Protest - Palo Alto Announcements are posted to this mailing list, and we also have details on our website calendar.
