Support *California* bill to protect animals in emergencies

Please support the following bill by calling or emailing your State Senator, before Wed. June 14th. This Calif. bill is separate from the national law. Please urge them to vote for AB 450! Thanks : ) Stephanie

The California State Legislature is currently considering legislation that would take into account the needs of animals when preparing for emergencies.

Introduced by Assemblymember Leland Yee, AB 450 requires that the Office of Emergency Services approve, adopt, and incorporate the California Animal Response Emergency System (CARES) program, into the standardized emergency management system.

The Assembly recently *passed* AB 450 and the bill has now moved to the Senate Committee on Government Organization, where it faces a hearing on June 14.
