Guest guest
Eric, I too saw the film the first night it was showing in Santa Rosa. I agree it was powerful, but didn't you think that there should have been SOME mention of the adverse effects of meat production and distribution on the environment? I was shocked that it wasn't even mentioned at the end, along with all the " things you can do " items. What we put in our mouth is about the only thing we have complete control over. You'd think they could have even said eat LESS meat, let alone go vegan or vegetarian. Could it be because Gore's family raised Angus beef and he's too much in denial about it? From the looks of him, he looks like he eats a tad too much meat (no disrrespect intended). As powerful as the film was, I think to not even mention this pervasive issue is a glaring omission. But then, this happens all the time in environmental circles. I'll never forget the Bioneers Conference I attended where you couldn't even get a vegan food option and there wasn't a single speaker on the topic. I believe it was 2002.
