Just the normal monthly reminder (except didn't send it out for some reason, so I'm sending it manually). Heads-up for anyone who is new or needs a refresher about the list.

Please take a few minutes to review this reminder about appropriate use of the SFBAVEG mailing list. These actions are little, but they go a long ways towards keeping this list as a vibrant, local community resource.Summary: inappropriate posts, which include off-topic, anonymous, inappropriate event notices or commercial uses of the SFBAVEG mailing list, may be deleted without notice. SFBAVEG is currently managed by a volunteer crew of four who do have full time jobs and other responsibilities in their lives, so we do ask for your support in maintaining the focus and value of SFBAVEG. Thanks for your understanding and support.Tammy, Chris, Doug, and KarenSFBAVeg List AdminsBay Area Vegetarianshttp://www.BayAreaVeg.org1. SFBAVEG MAILING LISTThis mailing list is first & foremost a Bay Area community resource managed by Bay Area Vegetarians -- not a place for folks to send all the nationwide & international veggie & AR news or alerts. News or alerts with a local slant are welcome. Before posting any messages, please review the group Charter and full posting guidelines. The charter provides information on Bay Area Vegetarians and the SFBAVEG mailing list. If you are not able to access the charter at the above URL, please contact -owner The posting guidelines provide important information about using the SFBAVEG mailing list. http://www.BayAreaVeg.org/charter http://www.BayAreaVeg.org/posts.htm Some key information to remember:a) SIGNED POSTSWith over a thousand rs on this list, it's difficult to keep track of who is who. So, to help us remember who we're talking or listening to, we ask people to sign their posts. After all, we are a local list, and want to maintain a friendly, community spirit, and be able to identify each other when we do meet at actual events. You can sign your post by typing your name after the body of your email. Alternatively, if you do have your name included in the account information for your email address, that'll also suffice (i.e. your name and email address appears in the "From" section of the email headers). Aliases are *not* acceptable. Please use your real name. ==> Only signed posts will be published.b) EVENT POSTSPlease remember only non-profit events related to vegetarianism, animal welfare or animal advocacy may be posted. And, if food is involved in these activities, it must be vegan or vegetarian. We are a vegetarian organization and cannot condone or indirectly promote the suffering and slaughter of animals by promoting events that are not vegetarian. The individual posting the event notice is responsible to note whether food is involved, and if so, include whether it is vegan or vegetarian.Due to the volume of posts on SFBAVEG, please post your event only once (this restriction does not apply to Bay Area Vegetarians events). You are also welcome to submit your event to our website calendar==> Only vegetarian/AR events and activities will be published. For more info, please review the Charter and Posting Guidelineshttp://www.bayareaveg.org/charterhttp://www.bayareaveg.org/posts.htmc) MAILING LIST ETIQUETTEWhen replying to posts, please include only the relevant portion of the original email. This improves the readability of your message, especially for digest rs, who receive one email that is a daily compilation of all the individual messages. When these messages are in fact replies containing the preceding earlier message(s), it gets very convoluted to read, unnecessarily large, and typically people will miss your response. Please also keep subject lines relevant to your post. If you're a digest r, please replace the generic ' digest' label with a relevant topic. For more info on mailing lists etiquette, see: http://db.tidbits.com/getbits.acgi?tbart=05386 2. BAY AREA VEGETARIANS is a non-profit 501 ©(3) community organization dedicated to building and supporting the vegetarian and animal rights community through Community, Advocacy, Resources, and Education. We manage SFBAVEG as a community resource to network, find support and promote veg*nism. Our website is:http://www.BayAreaVeg.org This site contains our Events Calendar, Ultimate Guide to Vegetarian Living, Veg Food Finder, Charter, Resources, FAQ and lots of other good information. 3. MONTHLY NEWSLETTERBay Area Vegetarians monthly newsletter is sent separately, and you can at our website.
