Guest guest
I think life in the Bay Area is pretty good for a vegan .. admittedly, it was better for me before Hwy 1/Devil's Slide closed and prevented easy access to SF, but still, with about 80 veg restaurants in the Bay Area, while I have a few complaints, I realize how fortunate we (as a vegetarian community) are compared to some other places in the U.S. Then I came across this article. I don't think this can ever happen here, but still, on behalf of the 269 chickens killed every second in the U.S., not to mention the hundreds of other animals, I relish the concept when vegetarians are the majority and meat-eaters are the minority. http://www.mercurynews.com/mld/mercurynews/news/world/14697367.htm Hope you all enjoy this article as much as I did! Cheers, Tammy __ "This is my protest against the conduct of the world. To be a vegetarian is to disagree--to disagree with the course of things today. Starvation, world hunger, cruelty, waste, wars--we must make a statement against these things. Vegetarianism is my statement and I think it's a strong one." -- Isaac Bashevis Singer
