Zao Noodle and their vegetarian includes fish

Hi folks,

 

To report back on my earlier post about Zao Noodle and food items labeled on their menu as "Vegetarian includes fish" .. I emailed through their contact us page and wanted to share portions of the discussion with Matthew Baizer, the President of the company:

 

"we just today went to press on a new menu that completely eliminated the Vegetarian markings on the menu. From this point forward we are only designating Vegan items which will end the confusion. The two items that are on our current menu contain fish sauce and that was the problem. They will no longer have any markings on them, and thus will be treated like meat dishes and we will avoid any further problems. Look for this menu to launch in 3 weeks. Thanks."

 

and

 

"We added a Vegan soup as well as a tofu veggie black bean stir fry."

 

He sent me the menu, and from having two items marked as vegan (Veggie Summer Rolls, Monk's Vegetarian Delight), they'll now have 6 items marked as vegan.
