Guest guest
Hi folks Our book discussion of A Pig Who Sang to the Moon has been rescheduled to July 22nd from May. So if you've been wanting to read & discuss this book with us, just a FYI on this update. You can find complete details on the event calendar at: http://www.bayareaveg.org/events.htm?EID=1060#1060 I would like some input about the August veg/AR book. The originally selected title is Dominion: The Power of Man, the Suffering of Animals, and the Call to Mercy by Matthew Sculley. But a few of us are interested in reading the newest book by Peter Singer and Jim Mason The Way We Eat : Why Our Food Choices Matter If anyone feels strongly that we should stick to the schedule and read Dominion in August, or go ahead and read the new Singer/Mason book next, please email me. Details on the August event are here: http://www.bayareaveg.org/events.htm?EID=1087#1087 The purpose of the veg/AR book discussions is to give us an opportunity to commit to reading these books and gather with like-minded people for a friendly, supportive discussion. Cheers, Tammy __ "This is my protest against the conduct of the world. To be a vegetarian is to disagree--to disagree with the course of things today. Starvation, world hunger, cruelty, waste, wars--we must make a statement against these things. Vegetarianism is my statement and I think it's a strong one." -- Isaac Bashevis Singer
