Hi I wrote an inquiry to Whitewave in regards to thier connection to Dean and Horizon foods and also in question of thier soybeans production origin. This is thier reply. -Nikki LeeDear Nichelle:Thank you for taking the time to contact us. We are happy to assure you that WhiteWave Foods supports the guiding principles that have been fundamental to each of our brand's businesses from the beginning. The acquisition of your favorite brand by WhiteWave Foods -- a subsidiary of Dean Foods -- will in no way change the brand, product line or company ethic because of the company's diverse portfolio. Rest assured, Horizon Organic® and Silk® were pioneers in their categories and will continue to stay true to their organic and natural roots as a part of the larger organization.WhiteWave Foods is committed to the long-term success of the organic and natural food and beverage industry and is proud of the contributions its Horizon

Organic and Silk brands have made to its growth -- both as pioneers and industry-leading brands. When Dean Foods formed WhiteWave Foods, its goal was to maintain the entrepreneurial spirit of the companies it brought together, while providing the resources to help make its brands accessible to more consumers. We hope that you will continue to enjoy your favorite products, and we invite you to grow with us. We're always developing new products that we hope will enhance and enrich the lives of our consumers. Regarding imported soybeans: Until recently, all soybeans used in the production of our products were purchased from farms within the United States. The majority of our soybeans continue to be sourced domestically; however, due to the 2003 drought and resulting organic soybean shortage, we have begun purchasing whole, organic soybeans from Brazil, Argentina and China. As a company committed to offering the best quality, best tasting products, we assure you

all of the soybeans used in our products continue to meet our high standards.Nichelle, we realize that all of our explaining and all of our good intentions may not change the way you feel. That is okay. We respect your right to make the choices that you feel are best for you and your family. We will continue to hope that your experience with us is a good one.Best regards from WhiteWave FoodsI offer understandingwherever I am standing;between reason, passion, balance.
