Hi all

I have a question about how to prevent/get rid of

snails in my vegetables yard, that does not involve

killing them? The snails are eating up all my

vegetables.

Please advise!

Thanks!

Yvonne

To deter the MANY snails in our yard, we use copper fencing and copper tape around the perimeter of our flower and vegetable gardens. We hand-pick the snails and relocate them to another part of the yard if we do find them in the gardens (the copper eventually wears off), but we have found it to work really well. Since you already have them in your vegetable garden, I would hand-pick as many as you can find (and do it early in the morning when it's still cool and you'll be able to see the little critters), and then do the copper fencing or tape (our beds are raised, so it makes it easy for us to do this) right away. Let me know if you have any other questions. We have found this to work really well, and even if they (or earwigs) get to some veggies, a lot of the plants can withstand some damage, so they've never been able to do real damage. Hope that helps!
