Guest guest
Hey All, After watching the food network cooking shows I realize there are really no vegetarian cookings shows. I don't think Emeril doesn't know what vegetables are. Bam!! Of course, I just may not know of any, so if you do let me know. Food network doesn't take recommendations from people other then production companies. Also thought it would be fun to have a show maybe on public access? I thought it could do all kinds show such as 101 basics for newbies. It suck trying to be veggie/vegan and not how to make yourself anything decent to eat. Maybe one week could be on raw food, another could be vegan, and of course then tons of ethnic veggie/vegan dishes, whatever. Books are great but sometimes it's easier seeing it done. I don't know anything about public access television such as costs or what not but after a few shows I seen on there it can't be too bad. Another idea was maybe have guest chefs on the show from the various vegan/veggie/raw/whatever restaurants. Maybe they would be kinda to let us film in their kitchen. Well this was just my idea and I have no clue about producing a show but i figured there gotta be someone on here that does. -Anthony
Guest guest
Actually there is an all vegan cooking show on PBS called " Christina Cooks " . She's been doing it for years and is probably the first and only vegan chief on TV. There's something like 140+ episodes in the series. They don't say the vegan word, but all recipes are vegan and she basically tells the audience not to use any animal products and why not. Check out her website - http://www.christinacooks.com The show pops up on the local PBS once or twice a year, but I've not seen it in a while, so maybe worth calling or writing your local PBS channel to ask to bring it back, or better yet if you're a donor to your local station ask them when you renew. There's also a very cool vegan cooking show on on NYC public access called " Post Punk Kitchen " , with a bunch of DVDs available, so no reason why you cant get it on local public access here. VeganPorn.com has also just started a new online cooking show with quick and easy recipes - http://veganporn.com/eazyvegan And of course, there's Colleen's cooking DVD which was produced locally. But I agree it would be great to get a vegetarian cooking show on the Food Network. Take care Chris Anthony [aconti] Wednesday, May 03, 2006 9:40 AM Veggie Cooking Shows Hey All, After watching the food network cooking shows I realize there are really no vegetarian cookings shows.
