Guest guest
EBAA Declares April 29 a Day of Action Against Foster Farms Each week Foster Farms, California & rsquo;s largest poultry producer, slaughters five million chickens for food. Although Foster Farms claims to be committed to animal welfare, a recent investigation (www.fosterfacts.net) by East Bay Animal Advocates (EBAA) reveals that the company violates animal cruelty laws, is engaged in unfair labor practices and misleads the public. In an effort to raise the public & rsquo;s awareness about Foster Farms & rsquo; role in the inhumane treatment of chickens, EBAA is leading a campaign on Saturday, April 29. Members of EBAA will help & ldquo;foster compassion & rdquo; by distributing informative literature about Foster Farms to shoppers outside Costco locations and times below: 11 AM - Noon 4801 Central Avenue Richmond 12:30 - 1:30 PM 1900 Davis Street San Leandro 2:00 & ndash; 3:00 PM 22330 Hathaway Avenue Hayward Investigations carried out by EBAA contradict these claims and reveal that the actual conditions at Foster Farms include inadequate veterinary care, high on-farm stocking density and unsanitary living quarters. Costco Wholesale Corporation is the largest membership warehouse club chain in the world and remains one of the top retailers of Foster Farms products.
