Guest guest
Hi there, My name is Dawn, and me, my husband, and our cat will be new to the SF bay area starting in May for a new job. I am fairly active in the veg scene in my current city of Chicago, and I'm really looking forward to getting to know new people in San Francisco. I am also in the process of looking for housing. We're wondering if anyone in this area would like to set up a new house share, or has a place with an empty couple of rooms. In my quest for perfect housing, I've found that 1/2 the rent of a 4-bedroom place is much cheaper than a 2-bedroom place. So, we're looking for another couple or couple of friends that might either want to share their own house with us or find a new place together. Our target date is mid-June to July 1. I will be in temporary housing for part of May and all of June. At least one of you must be willing to do some house/apartment shopping with me on mutually agreeable weekends and evenings. (I've already gotten an inquiry from a landlord who is going to be renting a brand new! 4bed/3bath house in Berkeley which sounds really promising.) We're open to the neighborhood in SF, so long as it is safe, relatively quiet (I realize it's a city!), and has good/easy public transportation to downtown. Nature/park proximity is a bonus. We would also consider a place in a nice part of Berkeley or Rockridge that is within 1/2 mile of BART. We're looking for another couple/couple of friends who would want 2 bedrooms and 1 bath to themselves and then share the common areas. We would like 1 large-ish bedroom, 1 private bathroom and a small second bedroom or den for an office/music space. We are looking for people who can spend around $2,000/month on the rent for your 2 people (that's what we can afford), are stably employed, non-smokers, non-drug users, quiet after midnight during the work week, good credit and references if we're going to sign a lease together. We have a cat who hates other cats, but one nice dog might work (we'd have to let them meet). We cook a lot -- so free, prepared food would be a bonus for you. We're clean, but not totally anal. We want people who will respect the common areas and clean up after their own messes and we will do the same. We'd like to explore hiring a cleaning person a couple times a month for the heavy-duty stuff, but that's not required. We're professional people, in our 30s, quiet, like mostly to keep to ourselves, respectful of people and property. We're mature and considerate, and looking for similar-minded people. We don't have children, but we could negotiate with someone who does have a well-behaved child (I think 1 would be our personal tolerance limit). I would write more, but this is already pretty long, so just e-mail me if you might be interested or know someone who might be. Please let me know something about you and your preferences so we can determine if it's a good match. Thanks! Dawn
