Guest guest
The Director of a non-profit organization just asked me to recommend a veg restaurant/caterer for an upcoming event. However, I've never hired a caterer so I have no idea what to tell her. If you have had experience with this, I could use some suggestions. The organization is based in San Francisco, so I assume that's where the event will take place. Thanks, Mat.
Guest guest
Hi folks For questions like these (regarding vegetarian foods or services) for at least a first quick check, I'd say look at the businesses that specifically offer catering in the Ultimate Guide ( http://BayAreaVeg.org/ug ) . My second would be to ask your favorite restaurant to cater it. For example, did you know Donna's Tamales caters? Vegan burrito!!! Or maybe just go straight to MaggieMudd's (get a picture perfect vegan ice cream cake) .. or Indian cuisine from Spice by the bay .. Many veg restaurants will do catering or provide big party trays. Just ask 'em~ I think typically the services obtained can be quite variable from just having the food provided, and you (or someone else) is responsible for the set-up and serving. Or, hiring a caterer to do everything, such as prepare, set-up and serve the food (is it buffet or served to the table). And, of course, there's the question of plates, cutlery, linens, etc.. Cheers, Tammy Bay Area Vegetarianswww.BayAreaVeg.org
