I blogged about the new meatrix last night.http://www.generationv.org/2006/03/29/meatrix_iiI was disappointed to say the least. Don't get me wrong, the graphics and story are cute, informative etc. But this time around there's more emphasis on "Free Range", family farms, and how people should buy hormone free or grass fed meat and dairy. Yuck!Having said that, it is produced by Free Range Studio and not PeTA - so what can you expect.Maybe someone can create a vegan edit of the cartoon.ChrisKim Wrote: there's a new "Meatrix" out, too: http://www.meatrix2.com/

I agree 100% with Chris. I know a lot of non-vegans saw the original Meatrix which also (if you watched the entire cartoon) endorsed buying free range animal products, this even more so. I think spots like this simply reinforce the idea that there isn't anything wrong with eating animal products especially to meat and dairy eaters who think they are doing the right thing by choosing free range. I was not happy that a lot of non-vegans saw the Meatrix (Although it did at least expose them to the suffering on factory farms) and I hope not many people see this sequel. And don't get me wrong, I think free range (if it's truly free range) is at least a step in the right direction but it's certainly not optimal. Optimal would be not eating animal products at all which is the message I want to get out. I, for one, will not be showing Meatrix II to anyone.
