THANK YOU! re: ideas/stats for new vegan bakery

Hi all

Just wanted to say thank you for all the replies,

about a dozen people so far have written to me with

great ideas and suggestions. Sounds like a vegan

bakery is in HIGH demand!

I know i too am so dissappointed i can't just sit in a

cafe on a weekend and have a nice cup of tea with a

good vegan dessert, let alone with like-minded folks.

I'm sure there are a handful of places out there where

you can, i'm probably just unaware of them.

I'm so thankful for your ideas, and most of the things

that were mentioned I'm already implementing in my

concept, so i'll share some that were mentioned by

you....

-late night hours

-cozy, comfy atmosphere

-display cases of baked goods, various coffees, tea

-literature available to read while sitting

-wheat/sugar/gluten free options

-organic, quality ingredients, healthier options

-whole grains

-delivery to local health food stores, restaurants and

cafes

 

Some that were mentioned that i'll think about ...(a

little more diner/kitsch style than i'm aiming for,

but not ruling out completely!) :-)

-donuts

-icecreams, ice cream counter

-vegan twinkies and swiss cake rolls

 

It sounds like i may have to do alot more research on

" growing trends " with veganism and all those other

not-so-fun aspects of trying to get funds together for

a bakery...

I'll probably check out a few books, Erik Marcus' Meat

Market was mentioned. I couldn't find to much on the

suggested websites, although there was some useful

information for sure. I still invite you to write to

me with any of your wants and desires of your ideal

bakery, as this is a great study in coming up with a

place that you the PEOPLE actually want! Also if you

find any info sites that you think may be useful to

me, i'd greatly appreciate it!
