Guest guest
Hi folks More veggie news from the coast .... The local paper, the Pacifica Tribune (which most Pacifica folks too) now features a column on Compassionate Living, which will discuss various aspects of living vegan. Alex B and I are co-writing this monthly column. The first one ran earlier this month. You can find it at: http://www.bayareaveg.org/docs/Pacifica_Tribune_3-8-06.pdf For SFBAVEG readers: in regards to Ira's recent post, sometimes we just have to create the veg message that we want to say, instead of relying on others who may frame it in a different manner. Anyways, I think this is something many other local papers may be receptive too .. There are a lot of talented writers in the Bay Area and I think this is a great opportunity to get the vegan message out there in a positive, supportive style. If you'd like to make a pitch to your paper, please do so! Or, if you don't feel you can write it every month (or don't want to write at all, but could pitch the idea), let me know, as I think there's definitely a pool of talented writers who would be interested in collaborating on something like this. Maybe it should be a syndicated column!? Anyways, I think there's a lot of possibilities out there .... would love to hear what ideas or feedback people have about this concept. Would anyone be interested in working on this as a project to pitch to other papers?? Cheers, Tammy Map it Veg! http://www.frappr.com/baveg http://www.frappr.com/vegetarians ____ "This is my protest against the conduct of the world. To be a vegetarian is to disagree--to disagree with the course of things today. Starvation, world hunger, cruelty, waste, wars--we must make a statement against these things. Vegetarianism is my statement and I think it's a strong one." -- Isaac Bashevis Singer
