Permission to CROSS POST!! "Katie Walter" katie.walter 1000 horses need your helpMon, 22 Oct 2007 23:42:24 -0400 - Leo Lowery ken ; Katie Walter ; sue ; Doc and Diane Cc: vzeller Monday, October 22, 2007 7:24 PM 1000 horses need your help. Please Cross Post far and wide! One thousand horses under star-filled sky let out one thousand whinnies and one thousand sighs. Those one thousand horses that ran 'cross this country's plains left behind thousands of brethren writhing in pain. These one thousand horses ran from something very strange - out of the sky fell bullets instead of a welcome rain. The young and old fell without a sound. The stronger ones were left pawing the ground in a futile attempt to race against death for death came and he kissed them as he took their last breath. One thousand live horses rest in the cover of night. Their race for life will resume at the dawning's first light. One thousand horses in one thousand trailers ride thousands of miles to meet their jailers. Confinement is cruel but what is worse comes after, - dying in bloody pools at the hands of death masters. One thousand horses lose on thousand lives as one thousand necks are pierced by one thousand knives. Bleeding out and trembling on a cold cement floor one thousand horses become no more. For one thousand horses on one thousand farms the footsteps of ranch hands causes alarm. In fly infested filth at four walls they stare, one thousand geldings,

one thousand mares. With nothing to fuel their spiritual fire these noble creatures languish in mire. These horses aren't silent though they've no voice to protest listen to their hearts that beat deep in their chest. Let that sound make you see the beaten and downtrodden, the ones dying now and the ones long forgotten Now that you see it, hear it - feel it, What will it take for you to help us defeat it? To all reading this we need your help. I know that to many of you it is tiresome to hear someone constantly crying for help, but it is also

tiresome to be on this end of the beggars podium and witness the needless pain and suffering of these beautiful creatures. Seeing these horrors day in and day out is made 10 times worse when you are forced to sit and do nothing because of a lack of resources. This is our wish list: Monetary donations are always welcome; we would love gift cards from gas stations to help alleviate the cost of some of the cross country transports of rescued equine that we are involved in; hay donations would be really appreciated; new team members that can fill positions as foster/rescue ranches, cruelty investigators and/or administrators would most definitely be welcome; anyone that has any fund raising ideas that would benefit the horses - we would love to hear from you! (contact info is below) and anyone else that would like to help but is not sure how,

we would really love to hear from you as well. Normally our pleas are limited to foster/rescue ranches and volunteers - that's it. Now we are faced with a crisis brought on by the sky-high prices of hay as a result of the scarcity brought on by the drought we are suffering. Please forward this post to as many people as possible. If we can reach 1000 people and each one of those one thousand people can just e-mail this plea to just one and so on and so forth, can you imagine how many people we will be able to reach? These babies, these wonderful creatures, need us to help them live without pain, sickness, hunger or fear. We need you to accomplish this. Spread the word our dear friends! Remember, 1000+ horses

depend on you. Thank you and God Bless! ***** "1000 Horses" is the copyrighted property of Equine Rescue and Protection and Humane Society (ERPHS).
