Greetings, Thank you for supporting the Animal Legal Defense Fund in our effort to Free Baby Mendes. Our lawsuit ALDF v. Mendes aims to stop Mendes Calf Ranch’s practice of confining baby dairy calves in cramped, filthy crates so small that they have no "adequate exercise area," as mandated by California law. While the case is pending in court, we are letting big dairy corporations like Land O’Lakes and Challenge Dairy, whose suppliers use Mendes Calf Ranch, know that these practices are unnecessary—and unacceptable. I am writing to you today to encourage you to watch an investigator’s video of conditions at Mendes Calf Ranch and send the video to your friends. Every voice is needed to help us stop this illegal abuse! We are quickly approaching 20,000 signatures on our letter to Land O’Lakes and Challenge Dairy, and we hope that number keeps growing so we can stop the suffering for the approximately 12,000 calves at Mendes Calf Ranch right now.
