Guest guest
"PETA" <newsmanagernotice-reply-wk7k7sx99kwkt7dSubject: Help End the Suffering of China's Cats and DogsTue, 25 Sep 2007 12:16:58 GMT Having trouble viewing this email? Last week, I wrote to you about the shocking cruelty to cats and dogs that undercover investigators witnessed during a visit to China. Their video footage shows cats and dogs who are crammed inside tiny cages and transported to markets. The animals are then beaten, bludgeoned, strangled and skinned for their fur. Some of these animals are still conscious as fur is torn from nearly every inch of their bodies.Because of atrocities like this, PETA's campaign against the fur trade continues 24-7. Only with the continued support of compassionate people like you will we have the resources necessary to fight for the rights of these animals. PETA has initiated negotiations with the Chinese government asking officials to improve standards of care and treatment for animals across the country, especially animals abused in the fur trade. So far, signs are encouraging – but we still have a long way to go.We're also putting enormous pressure on retailers and designers who sell or use fur. Through the efforts of PETA and its affiliates great inroads have already been made in putting an end to the vile fur trade - designers such as Tommy Hilfiger, Polo Ralph Lauren and Calvin Klein have been persuaded to drop fur.Of course, we must do more! For every one of the collar-wearing cats and dogs shown in the undercover video footage from China, there is a family that is distraught over the unexplained loss of their beloved companion. If you are lucky enough to share your life and home with an animal, take a moment now to be thankful that he or she is not facing the same fate as animals in China – and then support PETA's campaigns and help our fight against the international fur trade. With your help today, PETA will continue to help animals around the world. For all the animals your support will help, thank you!
