Guest guest
Permission to CROSSPOST!! Hi All, As you know we have quite a few pet stores in the state and many of them simply do not meet up to our expectations as humane stores. Well, a friend of mine called me late last night to tell me of another one in Columbus, OH. Eric Smith, a long-time friend of mine, spent the weekend in Columbus with some other friends and he stopped in to a pet store that simply made him sick. The smell hit you before you entered the building. Animals were kept in harsh conditions (an alligator about 4 ft long in a tank it could barely move in!!!) and there was barely a walk-way through the shop. He told me that he wanted to "take every animal in there and just leave with them". I told him that I'd see what my OH rescue contacts can do to shut this place down. Contact info for Pet Store: Menagerie Pet Shop Inc. 21 E 13th Avenue Columbus, OH 43201 Phone: 614-291-5490 Can anyone go and get pics and contact the local authorities regarding the conditions of the animals and the store itself? This place needs to be shut down immediately, it is NOT a humane pet store by any means. If anyone wants to contact Eric Smith (who lives in Huntington, WV) about what he saw, contact me privately and I will give you his number. PLEASE help get this place shut down, it is horrible to let animals live like that!! Yours in rescue, Joanie Stambaugh West Portsmouth, OH Shape in your own image.
