Guest guest
National Wildlife Federation How can you speak up for wildlife this month? 1. Protect orcas from global warming. 2. Speak up for environmental education by supporting the " No Child Left Inside Act. " 3. Make sure your senators help pass a wildlife-friendly Farm Bill. TAKE ACTION: Congress Gets Recess...Why not kids? Even as we face enormous challenges like global warming, our children are less environmentally literate and more disconnected from nature than ever before. On top of this, the federal No Child Left Behind policy has left environmental education...well...behind. Your Members of Congress have the chance to change this, by passing the " No Child Left Inside Act, " a bill that strengthens and expands environmental education in America's classrooms. However the past three Farm Bills have shaped more conservation programs for a longer period of time--and put more funding behind those programs--than any other suite of legislation. The 2007 Farm Bill has already passed the House of Representatives. Speak up to make sure the Senate version expands and funds wildlife conservation programs.
