INHUMANE TREATMENT OF TIGERS AT THE KY STATE FAIRHere is feedback from another individual who witnessed the show. Please

everyone...please make these calls. Without intervention, they will only travel on to the next fairgrounds and continue this sad tragedy. ----- Forwarded by Karen Hendren/T01/TMMNA on 08/23/2007 12:38 PM ----- "bluegrass_greene" bluegrass_greene (@) Sent by: KYARTA 08/23/2007 12:36 PM KYARTA INHUMANE TREATMENT OF TIGERS AT THE KY STATE FAIR I wanted to share my concerns about the inhumanity I witnessed at the Kentucky State Fair's traveling tiger show.My husband and I watched the start of the tiger show on Saturday, August 18, 2007 @ 1:30. It was an extremely hot day and hotter on the unshaded asphalt, where the tiger act took place. The "trainer", which I'll say loosely, looked like a Las Vegas show reject...with his bleached blonde hair. The first tiger allowed out, was a 20-year-old male tiger. He wasn't following the trainer's commands. He paced back and forth and then had a bowel movement. Once the trainer coaxed him up on the stand, he began retching for several minutes and then vomited. I wanted the show to stop. The trainer brushed the tiger's illness off, as being normal. I didn't think it looked normal.

I couldn't witness anymore of the vile inhumanity. I am shocked that the Fair Board would not only license this show as educational, but endorse such a lowbrow mockery of animals. If you'd like to help get this show and others like it stopped, here's who to shout at:The State Fair Board -( 502) 367-5000 - leave a message for Harold Workman, CEO and President. Exotic animal acts need to go!Call the Kentucky Department of Fish & Wildlife hotline 1-877-252-5378 to complain. It is answered 24/7. So you CAN call them today.Kentucky Dept of F & W - Commissioner Jon Gassett - 1-800-852-0942. Tell him these permits should not have been granted! Louisville Metro Council - (502) 574-1100 and leave a message for all the council members that Louisville Metro should have jurisdiction over animals brought into Jefferson County, including any animals at the Fairgrounds.
