Best Friends Animal SocietyClick here!*Trying to Killthe No-Kill Movement?*Did you see the article in USA Today called "Merits of No-Kill Shelters Questioned"? It starts with the fact that the city shelter in San Antonio, Texas, is working on a goal to become no-kill by 2012 through good spay/neuter and adoption programs. All fine so far. But then it veers off into a strange litany of pessimism from PETA ("it will probably leave some animals to suffer,") the HSUS (no-kill sheltering is "warehousing" animals), and even the ASPCA ("There is no room for no-kill as morally superior.")We've excerpted the article, along with a response from Best Friends, which says these organizations should (and

do) know better, and from Nathan Winograd of No-Kill Solutions, who says that no-kill is most certainly morally superior to not killing animals.Go here for the whole package. And feel free to join in with your own views.Patricia Breen www.petstorecruelty.org
